You're extremely lucky. The first time I was hit, the driver's lawyer was on the scene before the cops were. She refused to take a breathalyzer, the cops refused to write a ticket or to take an accident report, and I got to buy a new wheelset and a chest x-ray. I'm glad your experience, though obviously ****ty, was different - and I wish your story was more typical!
