I said no less then a year in prison & never be legally able to drive a car again & if possible never be insured again or own a car again. Plus the insurance settlement I received was very nice. Let me put it this way I don't have to work unless I want to, I want to so I do.
You're extremely lucky. The first time I was hit, the driver's lawyer was on the scene before the cops were. She refused to take a breathalyzer, the cops refused to write a ticket or to take an accident report, and I got to buy a new wheelset and a chest x-ray. I'm glad your experience, though obviously ****ty, was different - and I wish your story was more typical!
