Why We Defend the American Dream
The American dream of freedom, mobility, and affordable homeownership has produced enormous benefits for Americans:
I wonder about home affordability though, if it costs $100,000 more for a house inside the city, then when you consider the cost of the car, that's only a 10 year payback, not to mention the reduced stress, and more time for friends and family. The fact that people who walk and bike, generally are healthier and have a lower incidence of obesity (over 20% of Americans are considered obese, this is a trend that is heading up).
