North Georgia mountains are the same distance as the Appalacians are from Charlotte. Atlanta is hotter, both are muggy, Charlotte is nascar country, Atlanta is hip-hop (maybe not Marietta, but certainly the city of Atlanta)
I'm a native Atlanta (bailed 7 years ago). Atlanta traffic sucks. Charlotte is Atlanta 15 years ago. We have a family vacation home in the mountains north of Charlotte, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is arguably one of the nicest roads in the country.
