I have the Interchange rack trunk as well. I love it, too, but you can't carry shoes in it unless you have nothing else in the main storage area. I have panniers for the shoe days, or those cold AM/warm PM days where I'll be carrying a lot of clothes home.

Bottom line: if you're wanting to carry shoes most days, you'll need either a giant rack trunk or panniers...
