Temperature can have a large effect on pressure, depending on how close you are to the maximum pressure that the tire can hold (not the list one but the true maximum). Pressure and temperature have an inverse relationship so a small increase in temperature can cause a much larger increase in pressure. You can calculate the amount of pressure rise using Gay-Lussac's law

If it's freezing outside and you come into a house at 20 degrees C (68 degrees F) that's only a 7% difference in pressure.
