I have a 1983 plate on a Le Tour. I wish I had a bike made in '83 for it to go on. Now days they just give you a sticker. I've never registered a bike, but it's probably a good idea in case it ever gets stolen. It couldn't hurt and I believe it's required by law. It normally costs 10 bucks or so.
