Well, the basis of Kevlar is the Carbon-Carbon bonds that are interpersed with a few Nitrogen =-Carbon bonds. You could make it stiffer by getting rid of the Nitrogens (and some Hydrogen's and Oxygen's that are along for the ride).

You'd then have carbon fibers.
