Yes, one of the most difficult things folks moving from other, more green, parts of the USA or other countries is the adjustment to the lack of trees and green.

I grew up in and around the desert and southwest and abosolutely love the wide open spaces seen in the Santa Fe pictures.

Some folks also find that the mountains that we have - 14,000+ feet, craggy high cliffs, deep valleys, etc., are quite scary and foreboding. They really get fearful (and of course, they are right in a sense - we have many injuries and deaths winter and summer from avalanches, rock climbers, lost hikers and sometimes attacks by animals) of the mountains. I also grew uo in the mtns, and love them and feel comfortable in them. But, not all folks do!!

I am in the mtns right now. Did a little snow hiking yesterday, and hope to do some cross country skiing and snowshoeing today and tomorrow.
