London is definitely becoming folder dominated. Whilst maybe a year ago, it was rare to see a folder out apart from the odd Brompton, now you see them everywhere. Still loads of Bromptons (I passed seven on one 3 mile trip last week), but also the odd DT, a fair few rather ugly Dahons, the odd Mezzo and (on the London Cambridge train I take once a week, a fair few Birdies.
It feels like a tipping point has been reached. Whilst 16" wheels attracted stares not long back, its now a fact of life on London roads. It would be interesting to see what sales figures for folders are looking like - must be rocketing at the moment, driven by new cyclists, people buying into multimodal commuting and getting sick of ordinary bikes getting nicked - see
