There are 3 ways to mount a motor. Like the Estelle and the trike above on the (non drive) front wheel. This approach is the most common.
Inline to the chain as is found on the Giant Lite/Twist and on a Xtracycle kit I know (least common), or in the rear (drive wheel) .
Heinzmann makes retro fit kits that replace either the rear or front hub with a motorized hub.
