Being north of the 49th, I'd have to agree with your sentiments....
We all piss and moan too about the healthcare system (and the amount of taxes we pay to fund it) in Canada, but I feel comfortable in knowing that if I have an emergency there won't be a second wasted on thinking about what to do and if I can afford. I'll be getting myself to an emergency department and get looked after. I might have to wait a bit, but at least I won't be in debt when it's all said and done...
To the OP...I cringe everytime I read your account and I'm very happy you have linked the pics and not just shown them. I'm one of those that has chosen not to work in medical profession for a specific reason, it's pretty tough to administer medical advice when you're passed out
