I used the avocets for a while and the riding characteristics were excellent.

I gave up on them because they were too delicate as far as puncture resistance goes (admittedly, I used the non-puncture resistant ones, but still). Also, I found the foldable kind too be too easy to take on and off the rim and that made me nervous about tire mishaps on corners and downhills.
