It might be good for learning to balance better as well, right?

Or is a trainer a better option, the thing that attaches to your rear wheel only.
Rollers are a great workout and fun as well. The concentration thing applies until you get used to them. Once you are comfy with them they are not that hard to ride. Start by setting them in a doorway to get yer balance. Bike handling ability goes up exponentially the more you ride them. I put a line of tape a couple of inches from the outside of the drums just to give a reference of the centre. another bonus of rollers vs a trainer is once you have the wheelbase of the rollers set up properly you just jump on and go. With the trainer you have to set it up every time you want to use it. Rollers are easier on rear tires as well.
