Or clean it very well and buff any minor scratches with Scotchbrite...and then have the I.F. factory shoot it with clearcoat. It would be easier to wipe down after riding, too.

That'a a good idea. I find that the shot peened finish does like to hold dirt more than my ex litespeed.
