I doubt this would have much effect. Speaking for myself, I treat the auctions like a sealed bid auction. I decide beforehand the maximum amount that I am willing to pay for the item, then put the bid in the last few seconds. If I get it, great. If not, well someone was just willing to pay more than I was. If more time was allowed, I would not be upping my bid for the item. I'm just trying to avoid the newbies who have to nick away at you a dollar at a time until they finally best your bid. I don't give them the chance. I suspect most snipers operate on the same theory.
