try it. look up a member, someone who buys consistantly, and without too much clicking you can see through their profile and a bit beyond what they are watching. Once I found out about that, all the auctions I track I do by hand or let the sniping software keep tabs for me.

The ebay watch list is useful but not private.

You can also see how many are watching a particular item, a way to see if it is going to be "hot".
