I am also glad to hear you are not more seriously injured. But, I would not be anxious to settle with the driver's insurance company until you are sure you are recovered and/or have accounted for all injuries and bills. You want to be sure not to wait too long though....there is probably a time limit on when you can file a lawsuit if necessary. It might be a good idea to talk to a lawyer.

I was wondering, what was your lane position when you were hit? Right edge of the lane? Where do most people ride during fast descents? I tend to ride out toward the center line during fast/technical descents just to discourage people from passing me and creating a dangerous situation. It pisses people off sometimes but I figure it is better to be a road hog and piss people off for a mile or two than to let them try to pass and create a bad situation. I would be interested to hear other's thoughts on this.
