I've complained on here before about how an inter-city move killed the length of my commute. Well, after a 95km ride yesterday convinced me that I really need more time in the saddle, I've finally discovered a new route that triples my commute's length from a measly and shameful 1.37 miles / 2.2 km to a much more respectable 4.12 miles / 6.64 km (distances according to Google Earth). While still a bit short of the 6 miles I consider ideal, it's a heck of a lot better than what I've been riding since late November.
Best of all, a large chunk of the new route, which follows a riverside road, should have little traffic -- a distinct improvement over the current route. The Chinese New Year break ends tonight, so I'll be heading into work Sunday morning. Can't wait to try the new route out!
I guess there isn't much of a point to me having posted this here, but I'm just kind of giddy
