My first purchase took three weeks for the two day Fed Ex delivery to arrive by USPS. They use a shipping and handling charge scheme, which allows them to ship items fob destination. Which also allows them to record the sale while keeping the inventory on the books until you receive the shipment, cutting days out of the financing period and inflating the accounts. They should record a liability related to the sale until you take possession of the order to prevent inflated reports, but if they're going this far out of the way, it smells like something's cooking. In other words, Performance's accounts may benefit from late shipments.
And if they charge you sales tax, they compute it by the base list price rather than the actual transaction amount. If the discounts were post-transaction rebates, this would be legal, but they are applied pre-transaction, and charging the sales tax for an amount not exchanged at the transaction point is fraud.
Team Performance members: When you use your 10% back allowance, do they charge sales tax a second time on revenue they have already collected at a previous transaction?
