The Rolls has a plastic shell topped with a thin layer of firm foam, all that topped with a leather (or lorica) covering. It probably does "break in" a little over time, I suppose, but it's not as obvious as in a Brooks. Still, a great saddle, still used by professionals today!
the regal is the same. mine is comfortable, but i had to get the tilt just right to make it so.
