Hey, when it comes to roll-your-own lighting, I guess we are all new! Now you have piqued my curiosity again. I will have to check more into the overvoltaging. I have been wondering if it's possible to hook a couple of D cells in series with a 12 SLA to achieve the 14.4? I would suspect that there might be some issue with hooking different types of batteries in series. I know I could do 12 Ds, but then you have more pieces to deal with, even in holders.
