Denver, customs and my moustache

I've one hour to change planes in Denver, from Amsterdam to Phoenix. I remember the critical stories about the Chicago-switch O'Hare): 1.5 hours should hardly be enough to convince the custom officers of your good intentions to visit the USA.

How is Denver? On my passport's pic there's a moustache. Below my nose: nothing of the kind.

To prevent all kind of loosing time is it wise to cultivate a new one???

In short: what can I do to pass these officers smoothly?

Photo: At least to be kind and say hello in their midwest mothertongue, if there is?
(Translation: when you meet someone you can say MOI, eastern Dutch dialect for good morning)
