I have this week off!
So I managed to get some road rides in over the weekend and today ran errands on the Buzz. so happy to have gotten through the winter with (knock wood) no major mechanical issues on the bike. Of course, just as I was, literally, having that thought I was whipping through Harvard Square and flying into the tunnel that comes up to Cambridge/Kirkland Street and I'm nailing it to go through there taking up the full right hand lane and leaning hard into the curve at the bottom of the hill as it enters the tunnel and there, right in the middle of the lane is the mother of all pot holes. I've gone from the bright light of day to the dark of the tunnel and it's hard to tell just how bad the pot hole actually is and exactly, "How deep
is that pot hole?" Well, by now I've nailed it and I'm just hoping it's not so bad that it's going to send me sliding on my side through this dark tunnel and I'm through it but I can tell I've hit hard on that back rim. But the bike holds like a champ and I get through it but as I hit the brakes at the next intersection I realize something ain't right with that rear wheel now. I dinged my rim! It's pretty bad but I can fix it. It took a heavy wallop and I'm amazed I didn't taco my wheel I hit so hard.
Had a good ride otherwise but my legs were heavy from the road rides and the wind was hard and cold in my face the whole ride home.
