I had a Trek 2007 T10 hybrid arrive today, with a 'Tektro V' brakeset. However, the metal of the component through which I run the front brake cable is warped and so the cable will not stay secured. I've no idea what this component is called, so I've included a picture.

Also, the component does not appear to be unscrewable. Is it possible to get a replacement just for this?

Thanks in advance.

Your dealer should've caught that! I suspect this didn't come from a dealer, at least one in good graces with Trek, who strictly prohibits internet selling....oh well, who needs a warranty anyway!

Just squeeze it/bend it back with a pair of pliers. The gap should be just wide enough for the cable to go through...
