I ride on sidewalks when there is traffic in the road. I try to stick to backroads and minimal traffic going out of my way to get to work. I avoid car traffic at all costs. If you were correct about it being safer to ride on sidewalks, I would agree with you. But the simple fact of the matter is that riding a bike on the sidewalk is extremely dangerous. Just because a thing
feels safe, that doesn't mean it is.
We don't ride on the road because we're arrogant fools, we ride there because it's safer.
