I don't know that that is necessarily true.

I could be mistaken...but I don't think it would take much for the general populace of some oil producing Middle Eastern country to cause the events similar to those written in the link provided. These people (the ones who are not business owners/not part of the executive government/and, in the case of Saudi Arabia...do not work for or are associated with the royal family) do not exactly live in economic conditions that Americans (or most Europeans) are accustomed to. In alot of ways...its amazing that some of these regimes have lasted as long as they have. Factually the author is a little off in some things...but the main speculative point...IMO...is pretty feasible.
