I had both a hardtail and road bike by Yakota in the late 80's. Nothing special about either one, just decent cro-moly frames from Taiwan and good bang-for-the-buck components. Go ride a new Hardrock/Rockhopper and you will quickly see the difference. If you get $100., consider yourself lucky as I see many of the early hardtails on Craigslist listed at $75-$100. in excellent condition. If you want a casual urban/street bike, keep it. If you plan on riding any trails, sell it.
