...which reminds me of a story from the days of working at a bike shop and selling lots of roofracks and cargo tubs. i was explaining to one guy that the smallest one was 11 cubic yards and he got all confused and asked, "eleven cubic yards long?" and i said, "no, eleven cubic yards... volume..." and it took him a while to get it. i don't think he understood. later, he tried to get me fired, for something else.

which got laughs in re-telling to the coworkers later on, and birthed the joke, "so, is it a very loud box?"
