Success, I dug out the old wornout headset out of the trash and compared the two races. Everything but the inside diameter was the same. I put the old race on the fork and it fit right down to the bottom by it self. A little work with the small drum sanding attachment on my dremmel and a frozen fork, I was able to seat the new race with just a little pesuasion. I guess I now need the get the rest of the headset from the shop and hope like hell the headtube on this bike is ISO. Thanks for the help.
