these are the type of stories that have led me to buy all my own bike tools so i do not EVER need to use a bike shop. i know you don't hear about the good...

i don't mean to be knocking the LBS, i have run into these types of problems years ago with motorcycle repair. my racing mx bikes were never touched by anyone but me...one shop even let me uncrate the motorcycle

i even try to do as much work on autos as i can.

boils down to this:

1) time is money for mechanics of all fields

2) NO ONE will ever treat your stuff as if it were their own. if they do, then you will invariably get the mechanic who is not as anal as you would like. it's a no win...
