I think you should be ok. You may have a slightly tighter tooth-chain fit than with a wider 9spd chain, otherwise I think it should work. At most you would need some new chainrings as well, nothing else should need to be swapped at all. I would try it with the 9spd rings and get new ones if you have any troubles.
