When ever I shell out alot of money on ebay I request for the party to either call me or let me call them. IF they are willing to communicate via phone, you can tell alot about the item. Most rational people who deal honestly will not have a problem with talking on the phone. I just purchased a set of zipp 606 wheels for 1200 off there and I had the guy take a picture with the wheels, him in it, holding up a sign with my name in it. I think if you set the conditions and the buyer abides by them along with ebay conditions then the items may truthfully be legit the majority of the time. Maybe I'm living in a dream world but it works for I have never had any problems with ebay.
