Bikes: Surly Cross-Check

Getting a Surly Cross-Check but need tire advise

Well my wife gave me the "green light" for getting a totally new commuting bike for 2007 (tax refund $). I ordered a green 58cm cross-check. I didn't want the stock cross style tires. So the LBS said that Continental Contact 700-32s would be good. I looked up the details but I am unsure of how well they will do since I am interested in getting a pretty narrow yet stable tire that has high pressure 90 psi or more. Any suggestions? Any other cross-check commuters out there? The bike I have been riding for over 3 yrs is a Kona Tiki. It is all outfitted with finders, bar ends and such. I have had Specialized Armadillos (1.5 , 100 psi) and even Ritchey Tom Slicks (1", 100 psi) and loved them! Especially the Tom Slicks! They made me long for a road bike (drop bars, 700cc wheels etc). I basically want good flat protection not too narrow but not too wide and ability to go Fast (high pressure, light weight). I appreciate any help! I am counting the days! Next week Friday if my "ship" comes in ;0)

I am looking to cut down my commute time to get home sooner. I ride 10 miles from work to home and get there in about an hour. Partly how I got the "go" from my wife to get the bike! ;0) And it counts as my birthday, Christmas present etc... ;0)

Keep Cycling!
