MKS Chain Tensioner Questions

I just received a pair of MKS chain tensioners, and have a few questions/issues for people that use/have used them.

The only way I could get them mounted was with the MKS logo facing inwards, otherwise, the "washer" would be at a slight angle (I don't care about seeing the logos, but I want to make sure that I'm using them properly). Also, I had to put the washers on the outside of the fork end, because when they were on the inside, the wheel wouldn't fit (it made the dropouts a hair too wide). Once they were on, it is a cinch to get the rear wheel aligned. Just tighten/loosen the left or right side accordingly. It gets a little tough to tighten the nut with your fingers as you get a lot of tension on the chain (but nothing too bad).

As far as the right tension on the chain, I'm a little confused. I could never get this much tension on the chain using the old-fashioned method of using axle nuts by themselves, so I'm scared of over-tensioning the chain. The chain doesn't bind, but during certain phases of chainring rotation, it seems a little tighter than I like. How much should the chain wiggle when I tap it with a wrench? Also, I never really noticed it before, but I can see the chain loosen and tighten during the chainring's rotation (droops at some point).

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Am I doing anything obviously wrong in my description?
