Bikes: 2006 Specialized Roubaix Comp

A quick peruse of the Internet reveals that 50/36t sets are rare. Is this right? I've got a 12-27 10spd rear cassette. I don't need a 34t small ring. Unless I'm hitting up some mountains, and then I'll just go for the triple.

I sent an email to FSA just in case they want to give me a new free set, since I've only had the bike 6 months. I'm thinking this is abnormal wear for my riding history.
