The harder ceramic bearings will also last LOTS longer than traditional bearings and can likely go years and years between replacement. One of the things I read mentioned that the amount of pedaling energy conserved was the equivalent of losing the weight of a full waterbottle. I'm inclined to go ceramic the next time around. Interesting stuff.
