This brings back memories of threads last summer where people around the country were getting hit and killed by drivers and the drivers were always getting off the hook. In my fury over this, I casually suggested that a driver could attack a cyclist and it wouldn't matter one bit. Of course, the 'flaw' here is that you lived to tell and you have witnesses and evidence. But it does appear, that if you were alone, and died as a result, the driver would have gotten off scott free. Unbelievable and totally scary.
