Mt. Hood classic has the stage profiles posted. I think it makes Gila look like a Central Park recovery ride.
For Cat 3 men:
Stage 1 - 66 miles, 7150 ft of climbing
Stage 2 - 18.5 mile ITT, 1950 ft. climb, heading west in through the Columbia River Gorge. This is the wind surfing capitol of the lower 48 because of the very regular 20 - 30 mph westerlies in the spring and early summer. Hope for an early morning start time before the winds pick up.
Stage 3 - 86 miles, 9200 ft of climbing - ouch more than 1000' per 10 miles is damn hilly.
Stage 4 - 30 min. crit with a downhill into a gnarly 120 degree right hand corner.
I wonder if I can get my registration fee back? I am scared. I think its time to get some lighter wheels.
