Sorry Shifty but the plan, for now at least, is:
"Surfacing & Width
The CZ Trail is being developed along an old railroad/logging road
corridor that was originally engineered and constructed to support
heavy trains, trucks, equipment, and machinery. The gravel surface
will be retained as the preferred surface for the trail from Highway 30
to Vernonia. An asphalt surface will be retained in the Scappoose
area, from Highway 30 to Chapman Landing. Wherever possible the
trail will be maintained at a minimum width of 12 feet."
The existing gravel surface has been well compacted by years of use by log loads well in excess of the weight limits common on public highways. Nonetheless, it is not "pavement smooth".
The CZ road goes through that dog's back yard instead of the front.
