- Cannondale six thirteen frame
- Campagnolo Centaur 2006 groupset (I hear the shifting is better on 2006, plus its cheaper)
- Campagnolo Vento wheelset (this is the only thing I own so far)
- FSA Orbit Carbon headset (not sure exactly which size will fit the Cannnodale frame)
- Carbon forks (will probably get some cheapish unbranded ones)
- A stem (any good recommendations?)
- Handlebars (again, any recommendations?)
I'll probably use SPD pedals until I can afford some decent ones and a good pair of cycle shoes
Is there any glaringly obvious things I should look out for? Have I missed some components? Am I even in the right forum?
Why am I building it myself when I know nothing about road bikes? Because I love playing with bikes and have extensive knowledge of mountain bikes and I figure its the best way to learn.
If anyone can help and advise I'd be most grateful.
Thanks,
Tanc
The build looks fine, however I would opt for the factory fork, it's stiff and light and worth the few extra bucks. Bars and stem, there are so many that are good and you are going to get a ton of recommendations, but you need to figure out your reach and what feels comfortable. Like saddles, shorts, shoes and just about everything cycling bars are a very personal and subjective choice. As for quality just about any of the 'brand' name bars and stems are going to be more than sufficient.
