A little over a month ago my wife was compaining about her weight. She eats pretty well except for at the office and lunch. I suggested that she try my diet for a couple weeks and she agreed.
After a couple weeks of avoiding eating out, or excessively eating out, and avoiding snacking on all the crap they have around the office, she was happy with the results and decided to continue on the diet.
She's lost about 10 pounds in the last month now, her clothes are starting to fit loosely, and she's quite a bit happier.
Here's what she's been eating, roughly:
Breakfast:
1/2 bagel with regular cream cheese (Trader Joes Bagels are high in carbs)
Fruit serving, usually 138 grams of grapefruit
1/4 cup low fat cottage cheese or hard boiled egg
Lunch:
Green salad (lettuce and/or spinach) w/ low cal/fat dressing
Sandwich 2 slices rye bread, 2 slices ham/turkey, 1 slice cheese (lite munster, swiss, havarti), mustard
Fruit serving, usually 154 grams blackberries
Dinner:
Green salad (lettuce and/or spinach) w/ low cal/fat dressing
3 ounces lean meat or fish, frequently bbq'd
2/3's cup sticky white rice
lots of vegetables, frequently broccoli
Fruit serving, again frequently 154 grams blackberries
Snack:
3/4 cup Joes O's (Cheerios equivalent -- don't get the organic or high fiber, just the regular ones)
1 cup non fat milk
This is essentially what I eat daily, as well.
Also, she's started drinking coffee without creamer, no more lattes, and uses spenda for sweetener.
