I agree with you that John Forester's lifestyle or choice of friends, associates and/or business partners means absolutely nothing as far as evaluating his analyses, tests, and conclusions about cycling. I agree that those who chastise him for his personal lifestyle decisions are missing the picture and providing names to fit the generalization/sterotype he assigns to all critics.
Critics should stick to what he writes about bicycling and bicyclists, and his unique "Scientific process"for reaching those conclusions. There is enough to find fault with there, no need to delve into his personal life or personal beliefs. That is an irrelevant non-issue for me.
