I do believe that this was a flat bar hybrid type bike, but it was meant to be more of an offroad than road hybrid. On the Specialized Tange steel tubing decal it was listed as Mountain. I have seen other Specialized hybrids of this period with Road on this sticker. So I guess in a waye this is an early 29r type frame. I just thought it would make a good Katy trail touring/cyclocross bomber.

I bought this as a frame off ebay and have never seen the bike as it was original. I was unable to find anything about this bike as it was originally spec'd.
