Thanks for the info. I was going to call the bike company a while ago but there are no serial nos or model names on this bike - just the brand and the maker's name.

I tried the magnet method as suggested in a previous quote and I suspect that the frame is steel (cromo) as the magnet stuck to it. I also tapped the frame, and it did sound a bit like aluminium (a sort of flat sound, whereas steel makes a higher tone when tapped)

It is the weight fully stripped without forks.

If I find that it is aluminium I will sell it, as I only ride steel..
