Just when I thought I had Bianchi serial numbers figured out, you throw me a curve.

My 1962: 2F51703
My 1981: 1.M9914

My theory: lead digit = last digit of year; letter = either production month (no "I," making mine December 1981) or production fortnight. Yours could well be a 1983, but I cannot guarantee it. Are there any date codes on your Campag. cranks, hubs, or derailleurs? My rear derailleur says "Pat 80."
