During a junior stage race, a competitor who was starting to fall off pace stopped on the back stretch and spent a good solid minute "inspecting the tire" (with a finger on the presta valve) which turned out to be flat (at least by then). Rider took 2 free laps as per the ammended rules because of the .4 mile course length.
