In the 80's in Connecticut as motorcyclists there was a helmet law that required you to have a helmet on the bike. It was so funny. Everyone rode around with their helmet attached to the ***** bar.

The only time I do that on my bike now is when I go on some rides with teams that require helmet use. When climbing a big mountain I take it off and attach it to the bars. I don't care what I look like but I hate climbing mountains in 85 degree humidity with a bucket on my head. And going 5-8 mph up hill aint going to cause brain damage.
