I was a big fan of the Armadillos. Went through two sets without a flat. They are slow but it was worth it. The reason I started looking around for something else is after about 1,500 - 2,000 miles the Armadillos would get side wall separation. Others said that this never happened to them but it did to me - 3 times.

I switched to the Marathon Plus recently. The ride is a lot nicer. It's too early to tell about flat protection or wear.
