Dude, NYC is pretty darn flat. I do understand that wind plays some part in things, like I said I ride in FL and it is on the coast, but wind isn't that big of a deal when it comes to stopping. Riding on flat is really easy and I think I would want a no brake bike just to keep interest. I also realize that cars and people are somewhat unpredictable, but if you expect the worst your troubles will be a non issue. What I am saying is, riding in these flat areas really shouldn't be a problem without a brake and I don't know why people make a big deal over it? When I say flat, I am talking about slight rolls at most like NYC, Philly, FL, OH and the like.
