I've done 85km rides fixed without any big probs, our own Jeremeywhitehorn has done many 100km+ rides fixed (with a similar gear ratio I think) and I know some of the randonneurs (http://www.randonneursontario.ca/) do much longer rides fixed. Do you have a brake?
